BREAKING: Damian Lillard Made NBA History In Spurs-Bucks Game
On Tuesday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks are hosting the San Antonio Spurs in Wisconsin.
During the game, Damian Lillard made NBA history by becoming the 51st player to score 20,000 career points.
Lillard came into the night with 19,994 points, so he only needed six to achieve the career milestone.
Lillard entered the matchup with averages of 25.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 43.1% from the field and 36.2% from the three-point range in 24 games.
He is in his first season with the Bucks and has helped them get off to an excellent start with a 19-7 record in their first 26 games.
They are 8-2 over their last ten games and in the middle of a four-game winning streak.
Most recently, the Bucks defeated the Houston Rockets by a score of 128-119.
In 37 minutes of playing time, Lillard had 39 points, five rebounds, 11 assists and three blocks while shooting 11/19 from the field and 5/8 from the three-point range.
Following the Spurs, the Bucks will play their next game on Thursday evening in Wisconsin when they host the Orlando Magic.
Lillard spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers and helped them reach the NBA playoffs eight times (they made the Western Conference Finals in 2019).
He has career averages of 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 43.9% from the field and 37.2% from the three-point range.
