BREAKING: Detroit Pistons Reportedly Sign Former NBA Lottery Pick
On Wednesday evening, the Detroit Pistons will be in Wisconsin to face off against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Before the game, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the team has agreed to a contract with Kevin Knox.
Via Charania: "Free agent forward Kevin Knox has agreed to a one-year deal with the Detroit Pistons, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Knox returns to Detroit, where he played 42 games a season ago."
Knox is coming off a year where he played for the Pistons (and the Portland Trail Blazers).
He was traded from the Pistons to the Trail Blazers during the middle of the season and averaged 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.8% from the field and 34.9% from the three-point range in 63 games.
Knox was initially the ninth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after one season of college basketball playing for Kentucky.
Over five seasons, he has played for the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons and Portland Trail Blazers.
His career averages are 7.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 38.5% from the field and 34.2% from the three-point range in 275 regular season games (he has also appeared in three NBA playoff games).
As for the Pistons, they are 2-6 in their first eight games, and most recently lost to the Golden State Warriors by a score of 120-109.
They are coming off a year where they were the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 17-65 record.
