BREAKING: Dillon Brooks Fined $35,000 By NBA Following Rockets-Cavs Game
On Monday evening, the Houston Rockets lost to Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers (in Ohio) by a score of 135-130 in overtime.
During the final minute of the fourth quarter, Dillon Brooks and head coach Ime Udoka were both ejected.
On Tuesday, the NBA announced that Brooks and Udoka were both fined.
Via NBA Communications: "Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks has been fined $35,000 for directing inappropriate language toward a game official and publicly criticizing the officiating, and Rockets head coach Ime Udoka has been fined $25,000 for directing inappropriate language toward a game official, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations."
Brooks is in his first season with Houston and is averaging 14.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 47.3% from the field and 39.5% from the three-point range in 24 games.
Before getting ejected, Brooks had 16 points, three rebounds and two assists while shooting 6/12 from the field and 3/7 from the three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.
Udoka is in his first season as head coach of the Rockets, and they are currently 13-11 in their first 24 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference.
They are 5-5 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak.
Following the Cavs, the Rockets will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they host Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks in Houston, Texas.
