UPDATE: The Suns won Game 3 by a score of 121-114, and Kevin Durant had 39 points.

UPDATE: Kevin Durant has also moved up on the all-time Playoff field goals made list.

Via The NBA: "Congratulations to @KDTrey5 of the @Suns for moving to 9th all-time in Playoff FG's made!"

On Friday evening, the Phoenix Suns are hosting the Denver Nuggets in Arizona for Game 3 of their second-round playoff series.

During the game, 13-time All-Star Kevin Durant made NBA history by moving up on the all-time Playoff scoring list.

The former Texas star came into the night with 4,754 career playoff points, which ranked eighth on the list.

He has now moved ahead of Hall of Famer Karl Malone (4,761) for seventh.

Following Malone, the next player for Durant to pass will be four-time NBA Champion Tim Duncan (5,172).

Durant is one of the best players in NBA history and will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day.

Through the first seven games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, the 34-year-old has averaged 27.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.4 blocks per contest.

He is also shooting a tremendous 50.4% from the field.

That said, the Suns find themselves in a tough spot.

They lost both Games 1 and 2 in Colorado, so they are in an 0-2 hole and will need a victory to avoid falling down 0-3.

Durant is in his first season playing for the franchise after getting traded (via the Brooklyn Nets) in February.

He has also played for the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors.

In 2014, he won the MVP, and he has also won two NBA Championships (and two Finals MVPs).

Game 4 will be on Monday night back in Phoenix, and the winner of the series will advance to the Western Conference Finals.
