On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 123-108 on the road in Louisiana.

The Lakers got off to an excellent start to the game and took a 75-40 lead into halftime.

One of the biggest reasons for their sensational first half was the play of Anthony Davis.

He put up 20 points and eight rebonds on 7/9 shooting in the first two quarters.

During the second half, the eight-time All-Star made NBA history, as he has now moved up on the all-time scoring list

He came into the night with 15,502 points, which ranked 136th on the list and only needed 34 to pass Bob Dandridge (15,530) and Dennis Johnson (15,535) to move 134th.

Davis finished the game with an outstanding 35 points, 17 rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes of playing time.

The 2020 NBA Champion just turned 30 years old and has averaged 24.0 points per contest for his career, so he will likely end up much higher on the list.

He is currently averaging 26.1 points, 12.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.1 blocks per contest in 44 games (while shooting 56.1% from the field).

With the victory, the Lakers are now 34-35 in 69 games, which has them in a three-way tie with the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 7-3 in their last ten games and improved to 16-19 on the road.

The Lakers will play their next game on Wednesday night when they visit the Houston Rockets in Texas.
