BREAKING: Memphis Grizzlies Make Massive Announcement About Ja Morant
The Memphis Grizzlies have played each of the last two games without All-Star point guard Ja Morant.
On Saturday, he was seen allegedly holding a gun in an Instagram live post that went viral.
Following the incident, the Grizzlies announced he would be away from the team for two games.
In the first game without Morant, they lost 135-129 to the Los Angeles Clippers, and on Tuesday night, they lost 112-103 to the Los Angeles Lakers.
On Wednesday, the team has now announced that Morant will be out for at least four more games.
Via Grizzlies PR: "Ja Morant will continue to remain away from the team for at least the next four games."
Ahead of the announcement from the team on Thursday, the Glendale Police Department in Colorado announced they had concluded their investigation into the Grizzlies' star, stating that "there was not enough available evidence to charge anyone with a crime."
Morant had been in the middle of another tremendous season with averages of 27.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.1 steals per contest in 53 games (while shooting 46.3% from the field).
He is in his fourth season in the NBA, and has led the Grizzlies to the NBA Playoffs in each of the last two seasons.
Last year, they had the second best regular season record (56-26) in the NBA, and lost to the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the second round of the playoffs.
Right now, the Grizzlies are tied for the second seed in the Western Conference with a 38-26 record in 64 games.
They are in the middle of a three-game losing streak and 5-5 in their last ten games.
On Thursday evening, the Grizzlies will host the Warriors in Tennessee.
