UPDATE: The Memphis Grizzlies have officially waived Bismack Biyombo.

On Tuesday evening, the Memphis Grizzlies defeated Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks (in Texas) by a score of 120-103.

Bismack Biyombo had two points, two rebounds and four assists while shooting 1/2 from the field in 18 minutes of playing time.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski now reports (on Wednesday) that the Grizzlies will waive Biyombo.

Wojnarowski reported that the move is to make room on the roster for Vince Williams Jr., who they signed to a three-year deal.

Via Wojnarowski: "The Grizzlies are waiving center Bismack Biyombo, sources tell ESPN. He made a good impact with franchise and could be brought back again. Memphis is expected to add another big on a newly available two-way contract."

Biyombo has played in 30 games and is averaging 5.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 56.3% from the field.

The Grizzlies are the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 14-23 record in their first 37 games.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and in the middle of a three-game winning streak.

Following the Mavs, the Grizzlies will host Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday evening in Memphis, Tennessee.

Biyombo was the seventh pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has also spent time with the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors (in addition to Memphis).

His career averages are 5.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per contest while shooting 53.5% from the field in 829 regular season games.

He has also appeared in 40 NBA playoff games and was with the Raptors when they reached the Eastern Conference Finals in 2016.
