BREAKING: Memphis Grizzlies Will Reportedly Sign Recent Suns Player
UPDATE: Jordan Goodwin has officially signed with the Grizzlies.
Jordan Goodwin was recently traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Brooklyn Nets.
However, he was waived by the Nets and became a free agent.
In 40 games with the Suns, Goodwin averaged 5.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 38.9% from the field and 28.8% from the three-point range.
Now that he has cleared waivers, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Goodwin will sign a ten-day deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Via Wojnarowski: "The Memphis Grizzlies are planning to sign free agent guard Jordan Goodwin on a 10-day deal, sources tell ESPN. Goodwin is expected to join the team as soon as Tuesday. Goodwin has spent time with the Suns and Wizards in the past two-plus seasons."
In addition to the Suns, Goodwin has also spent time with the Washington Wizards.
Over 104 regular season games, the 25-year-old has career averages of 5.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 30.7% from the three-point range.
The Grizzlies will likely be a good opportunity for him to showcase his skills since they have dealt with a lot of injuries this season.
Right now, the Grizzlies are the 13th seed in the Western Conference with an 18-35 record in 53 games.
They are 2-8 over their last ten games and are also in the middle an eight-game losing streak.
On Monday evening, the Grizzlies will host Brandon Ingram and the New Orleans Pelicans.
At home, they are 5-19 in 24 games.
