UPDATE: Delon Wright has officially signed with the Miami Heat.

UPDATE: The Washington Wizards have officially waived Delon Wright.

Delon Wright has played in 33 games for the Washington Wizards this season and is averaging 4.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 39.3% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range.

However, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Wright will agree to a contract buyout with the Wizards and sign a deal with the Miami Heat after he clears waivers.

Via Wojnarowski: "Washington Wizards guard Delon Wright has agreed on a contract buyout, clearing the way for him to sign with the Miami Heat upon clearing waivers, his agent Greg Lawrence tells ESPN. Another dependable veteran for the Heat’s rotation."

Wright is in his ninth season in the league and has also spent time with the Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies.

His career averages are 7.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 35.4% from the three-point range in 494 regular season games.

He's also appeared in 37 NBA playoff games.

As for the Heat, they are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with a 30-25 record in 55 games.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

The franchise has made the Eastern Conference Finals three times in the previous four seasons (and also been to the NBA Finals twice in that span).

Wright will likely be a significant addition to their bench.
