BREAKING: OKC Thunder Reportedly Release Former Duke Player
Jack White is coming off his rookie year in the NBA, where he played in 17 regular season games for the Denver Nuggets.
The 26-year-old averaged 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 42.1% from the field.
In addition to the NBA, he played in the G League and had averages of 19.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 54.4% from the field and 40.9% from the three-point range in 15 regular season games (he also appeared in 12 Showcase Cup games).
This summer, White became a free agent and signed a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
However, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports that he has now been waived.
Via Scotto: "The Oklahoma City Thunder waived Jack White, league sources told @hoopshype."
Yossi Gozlan of HoopsHype added more details about the transaction.
Via Gozlan: "Jack White has a $600,000 partial guarantee for this season. The Oklahoma City Thunder roster is now set with 15 players on standard contracts.
The Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, and Washington Wizards still need to resolve their rosters."
White initially went undrafted in 2020 after playing four seasons of college basketball for Duke.
Over 103 games with the Blue Devils, he averaged 2.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 38.4% from the field.
As for the Thunder, they will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season when they visit Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on October 25.
