Jaylen Nowell is coming off a year where he appeared in 65 regular season games for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 24-year-old averaged 10.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field and 28.9% from the three-point range.

He also appeared in five NBA playoff games, as the Timberwolves lost in the first round to the Denver Nuggets.

This summer, Nowell signed a deal with the Sacramento Kings, but Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reports that he will be waived.

Via Charania: "The Sacramento Kings are waiving guard Jaylen Nowell, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."

Nowell was initially the 43rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Washington and has played four seasons in the league (all with the Timberwolves).

His career averages are 9.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest while shooting 44.7% from the field and 32.2% from the three-point range in 184 regular season games.

He has also appeared in six NBA playoff games and helped the Timberwolves reach the postseason in back-to-back years.

Since Nowell is still so young and has proven to be a solid scorer, he could be a good addition to many teams.

With the regular season beginning in less than a week, he will be a name to watch.

As for the Kings, they will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season on October 25 when they visit the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.

Last year, they lost in the first round of the NBA playoffs to the Golden State Warriors.
