Ben Simmons Makes Post To Instagram That Is Going Viral
Ben Simmons was the top pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers and made three All-Star Games in his first four seasons in the league.
That said, the former LSU star has dealt with injuries over the last few years.
He was traded to the Brooklyn Nets during the 2021-22 season but didn't play that year (and then had back surgery in the summer of 2022).
This past year, Simmons averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 56.6% from the field in his return to the floor.
However, he had his season cut short due to a back injury.
On Thursday night, Simmons made a post to Instagram with six photos.
There were over 59,000 likes and 1,000 comments in less than two hours.
Based on the photos, he appears to be keeping himself in fantastic shape despite his time away from playing.
Simmons captioned the post: "Just chumming the water 🎣"
The Nets were seen as title contenders before the season but traded away Kyrie Irving (to the Dallas Mavericks) and Kevin Durant (to the Phoenix Suns).
Simmons only played in 42 regular season games, and the Nets finished as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
That said, they were swept in the first round of the NBA Playoffs by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Simmons is 26 years old and only going into his sixth season in the league (he's missed two seasons).
Therefore, he still has plenty of time to return to the player he once was.
Currently, there are two years and $78 million left on his contract.
