Brooklyn Nets Make A Roster Move On Tuesday
The Brooklyn Nets have gone 4-6 since Kevin Durant suffered his MCL injury and on Monday night, they picked up a much-needed victory at home over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kyrie Irving has been sensational over the last several weeks for the Nets and as a result, they remain just 4.5 games back of first-place in the Eastern Conference as they prepare for a huge game on the road against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
Ahead of this game on Tuesday, Brooklyn made a roster move though, as they recalled second-year forward Kessler Edwards from the Long Island Nets in the NBA G League.
Long Island Nets: “The Brooklyn Nets have recalled Kessler Edwards from the Long Island Nets.”
Edwards, 22, was recently sent down to the G League on January 30 by the Nets and he played in the team’s most recent game against the Wisconsin Herd, the affiliates of the Milwaukee Bucks.
In this game, Edwards recorded 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and a block in 33 minutes, aiding Long Island to a 131-116 victory.
Playing in 13 games this season with the Brooklyn Nets, Kessler Edwards has not made much of an impact, as he has played very little near the end of games. He has only scored 15 points in 74 total minutes this season at the NBA level while also recording 14 rebounds.
Last season, Edwards made an impact when the Nets faced multiple injuries, as he averaged 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in about 20.6 minutes per game. He appeared in a total of 48 games a season ago.
Going back-and-forth between the NBA and G League this season, the Nets have been looking to develop Edwards further and hopefully turn him into a player they can use on a consistent basis.
