OFFICIAL: Kyrie Irving Trade Involving Nets-Mavericks Has Been Finalized

Kyrie Irving is officially a member of the Dallas Mavericks after the trade between the Mavericks and Nets was finalized on Monday evening.

After the Brooklyn Nets looked to add on to their trade involving Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks, this trade was has been officially finalized, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania

Shams Charania: Official: Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks. Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, 2029 first-round pick and two second-round picks in 2027 and 2029 to the Brooklyn Nets. 

Veteran forward Markieff Morris is also going to Dallas via Brooklyn. 

Kyrie Irving, who requested a trade form the Nets on Friday, will now suit up and play for the Dallas Mavericks, who will be his third different team since leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers following the 2016-17 season. 

There were reports on Monday that the Nets were looking to find another team to get involved in this deal and potentially trade either Spencer Dinwiddie or Dorian Finney-Smith elsewhere, but with this trade being official and finalized by the NBA, both Dinwiddie and Finney-Smith are ineligible to be traded. 

Dinwiddie now rejoins the Nets, an organization that he spent five seasons with prior to joining the Washington Wizards in 2021. 

Finney-Smith has spent his entire career with the Mavericks since going undrafted in 2016. 

Kyrie Irving is now set to join the Mavericks and practice with the team on Tuesday ahead of their game on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, this according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon

No specific dates have been given yet on when Dinwiddie and Finney-Smith will be making their debuts with the Brooklyn Nets.
