Chris Paul Made Incredible NBA History In Warriors-Pelicans Game
On Monday evening, the Golden State Warriors played the New Orleans Pelicans (on the road).
They were on the second night of a back-to-back but were still able to pull off a 130-102 blowout win.
Chris Paul played 25 minutes and had 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 6/10 from the field and 1/5 from the three-point range.
With his 13 points, the 12-time All-Star has now passed Hall of Famer Larry Bird (21,791) for 37th on the NBA's all-time scoring list.
The next player for Paul (21,800) to pass will be Gary Payton (21,813).
Paul is in his first season with the Warriors (after getting traded over the offseason) and has helped the team get off to a 3-1 start in their first four games.
Even at 38, he remains among the best guards in the league.
The future Hall of Famer is in his 19th season in the NBA and has also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder.
His career averages are 17.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 2.1 steals per contest while shooting 47.2% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range in 1,217 regular season games (he has also appeared in 149 NBA playoff games).
Meanwhile, the Warriors will play their next game on Wednesday night when they host Domantas Sabonis and the Sacramento Kings at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Last year, the Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
