On Friday evening, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the Washington Wizards at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Chris Paul is playing in his 1,239th game, which moves him ahead of Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon for sole possession of 37th on the all-time regular season games played list.

Following Olajuwon, the next player for Paul to pass will be Dwight Howard (1,242).

Paul came into the evening with averages of 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 39.6% from the field and 31.4% from the three-point range in 24 games.

The Warriors are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 13-14 record in their first 27 games.

They are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and most recently defeated Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics by a score of 132-126.

In 35 minutes of playing time, Paul had nine points, seven rebounds and 12 assists while shooting 4/12 from the field and 1/5 from the three-point range.

Following the Wizards, the Warriors will play their next game on Saturday evening when they host the Portland Trail Blazers in San Francisco.

Paul is in his 19th season in the NBA (and his first with Golden State).

He is one of the greatest point guards of all time and is a future Hall of Famer.

In addition to the Warriors, the 12-time NBA All-Star has also spent time with the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder.
