Chris Paul Was Asked About Reported Suns-Wizards Trade
On Sunday afternoon, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported the first significant trade of the 2023 NBA offseason.
According to Charania, the Phoenix Suns will acquire three-time All-Star Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards.
The move gives the Suns a roster that features Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and Beal.
Via Charania: "BREAKING: The Washington Wizards are trading three-time All-Star Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns for Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, a handful of second-round picks, and multiple pick swaps, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."
The deal also includes future Hall of Famer Chris Paul, but it's unclear if he will be headed to the Wizards or another team.
Via Charania on FanDuel TV: "For now, the Wizards are gonna try to see if they can flip him to a third team."
On Monday morning, Paul did an interview with Good Morning America for his upcoming book.
During the interview, the 12-time NBA All-Star was asked about the reported trade.
Paul: "I was surprised, too. I found out on the plane yesterday, flying here, for this. You know, in this league, anything can happen, so you just figure out what's next."

Paul is 38 years old, but still remains among the best point guards in the league, and is coming off a season where he averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 44.0% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point range.
