Dallas Mavericks Officially Sign 3 New Players

The Dallas Mavericks announced several signings.

NBA free agency began six weeks ago, but training camp doesn't open up around the league until September.

Therefore, there will be many more moves as teams begin to finalize their rosters.

On Monday, the Dallas Mavericks announced that they had signed three new players (h/t HoopsRumors).

All three players will now likely head to training camp with Dallas.

Via Mavs PR: "The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have signed forward Greg Brown III, guard Jordan Walker, and forward Joe Wieskamp. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed."

Brown III was the 43rd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Texas and averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 39.3% from the field in 16 regular season games for the Portland Trail Blazers last year.

Walker went undrafted in June but is coming off an impressive college career.

During his final season, he averaged 22.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 40.3% from the field and 37.8% from the three-point range in 33 games for UAB.

Wieskamp was initially the 41st pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Iowa.

This past year, he played nine games for the Toronto Raptors and averaged 1.0 points per contest (he has also spent time with the San Antonio Spurs).

As for the Mavs, they are coming off a year where they were the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 38-44 record.

They missed the postseason last year after making the Conference Finals in 2022.
