Earlier this month, the Dallas Mavericks began training camp, and they have now played two preseason games (they lost both against the Minnesota Timberwolves).

On Saturday, the team announced that they had waived three players.

Via Mavs PR: "The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have waived guard Mike Miles Jr., guard Jordan Walker and guard/forward Joe Wieskamp."

Miles Jr. went undrafted this past summer after three seasons of college basketball playing for TCU.

Last year, he averaged 17.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 49.7% from the field and 36.2% from the three-point range in 27 games.

Walker also went undrafted this summer and played five seasons of college basketball for Seton Hall, Tulane and UAB.

This past year, he averaged 22.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 40.3% from the field and 37.8% from the three-point range in 33 games.

Wieskamp was the 41st pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Iowa.

He has played part of two seasons in the NBA for the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors.

Over 38 games, he has a career average of 1.8 points per contest while shooting 32.9% from the field and 30.9% from the three-point range.

As for the Mavs, they have one of the best duos in the NBA with Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.

However, they are coming off a season where they finished as the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 38-44 record and missed the NBA playoffs.
