Dante Exum was once seen as a potential star in the NBA when the Utah Jazz selected him with the fifth pick in the 2014 Draft.
Unfortunately, the point guard dealt with injuries and was never able to average more than 8.1 points per contest in a season.
That said, Exum will get another chance in the NBA, as ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that he is signing a deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent G Dante Exum – a former No. 5 overall pick – is returning to the NBA on a guaranteed deal with the Dallas Mavericks, his agent Brandon Rosenthal tells ESPN. After leading Partizan to their first title in a decade, Exum brings his perimeter versatility to the Mavs."

Over his six seasons in the NBA, Exum played for the Jazz and Cleveland Cavaliers.
He last played in the league during the 2020-21 season (with the Cavs).
His career averages are 5.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest while shooting 40.7% from the field.
ESPN's Tim MacMahon added more details about the signing.
Via MacMahon: "Dennis Lindsey, a recent addition to the Mavs’ front office, drafted Dante Exum with the Jazz. Injuries derailed his time in Utah, but Exum is a good perimeter defender."

Last year, the Mavs went 38-44 and finished as the 11th seed in the Western Conference, so they missed the NBA Playoffs and the play-in tournament.
However, they have two of the best players in the NBA, with superstars Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic on the roster.
