Dallas Mavericks Sign G League Player
Taze Moore is coming off a year where he played in the G League for the Texas Legends (G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks).
Moore averaged 13.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 49.3% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range in 24 regular season games (he also appeared in 15 Showcase Cup games).
On Monday, the Mavs announced that they had signed Moore to a contract.
Via Mavs PR: "The Dallas Mavericks have signed Taze Moore."
Moore went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft after playing five seasons of college basketball (four for Cal State Bakersfield and one for Houston).
During his final season, he averaged 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 44.1% from the field and 31.9% from the three-point range in 36 games.
Moore also played in five NBA Summer League games for the Mavs and averaged 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 60.0% from the field.
If Moore does not make the roster, it's possible that he will begin the 2023-24 season with the Texas Legends.
As for the Mavs, they are coming off a year where they were the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 38-44 record.
After making the Conference Finals in 2022, they missed the NBA playoffs (and play-in tournament).
That said, the Mavs have one of the most talented duos in the league, with Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.
They will play their first game of the regular season on October 25 when they visit the San Antonio Spurs.
