Damian Lillard Made NBA History In Bucks-Raptors Game
On Wednesday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks are in Canada facing off against the Toronto Raptors.
During the game, Damian Lillard made NBA history by moving up on the all-time assists list.
Lillard came into the evening with 5,189 career assists, and he has now moved ahead of Kenny Anderson (5,196) for 64th on the list.
The next player for Lillard to pass will be Norm Van Lier (5,217).
Lillard entered the matchup with averages of 22.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 37.0% from the field.
The Bucks are 6-4 in their first ten games, which has them tied for the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
Most recently, they beat the Chicago Bulls by a score of 119-108, and Lillard had 12 points, three rebounds and five assists in 32 minutes of playing time.
Lillard had spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers before being traded to the Bucks over the offseason.
He is one of the greatest point guards of all time and is coming off a year where he averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest while shooting 46.3% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point range.
Following the Raptors, the Bucks will play their next game against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday evening in North Carolina.
Last season, they were the first seed in the Eastern Conference with the best record in the NBA (58-24) but lost to the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.
