On Friday evening, the Milwaukee Bucks are playing the Charlotte Hornets at home in Wisconsin.

During the game, All-Star point guard Damian Lillard made NBA history by moving ahead of LaMarcus Aldridge (20,558) for 46th on the all-time scoring list.

Following Aldridge, the next player for Lillard to pass will be George Gervin (20,708).

Lillard was teammates with Aldridge on the Portland Trail Blazers for the first three seasons of his career.

Lillard came into the evening with averages of 24.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 42.5% from the field and 34.7% from the three-point range in 47 games.

He is in his first with the Bucks and has helped lead them to a 33-19 record, which has them as the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

That said, Lillard had missed each of the previous two games, and the Bucks are in the middle of a three-game losing streak.

Following the Hornets, the Bucks will remain in Milwaukee to host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on Monday evening.

Lillard was the sixth pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Weber State and is in his 12th season in the league.

He spent 11 seasons with Portland and helped them reach the NBA playoffs eight times (they made the 2019 Western Conference Finals).

His career averages are 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point range in 816 games.
