D'Angelo Russell Made NBA History In Nets-Lakers Game
On Friday evening, D'Angelo Russell and the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Brooklyn Nets in California.
During the game, Russell made NBA history by tying Ryan Anderson (1,325) and Khris Middleton (1,325) for 64th on the all-time three-pointers list.
Following Middleton and Anderson, the next player for Russell to pass will be Mitch Richmond (1,326).
Russell came into the evening with averages of 15.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists per contest while shooting 47.3% from the field and 40.1% from the three-point range in 38 games.
The 2019 NBA All-Star has been on a roll as of late and has scored 29+ points in two of the previous three games.
The Lakers are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 21-21 record in their first 42 games.
They are 4-6 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a two-game winning streak.
Most recently, the Lakers beat the Dallas Mavericks (at home) by a score of 127-110.
Russell had 29 points, four rebounds and three assists while shooting 11/20 from the field and 5/7 from the three-point range in 36 minutes of playing time.
Following Friday's showdown with the Nets, the Lakers will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Russell was the second pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Ohio State and is in his ninth season in the league.
In addition to the Lakers, he has also spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves.
