On Sunday afternoon, the Sacramento Kings lost Game 7 of their first-round playoff series to the Golden State Warriors by a score of 120-100 on their home floor at the Golden 1 Center.

With the loss, they will now head home for the 2023 offseason, while the Warriors advance to the second round (to face off with the Los Angeles Lakers).

All-Star point guard De'Aaron Fox had an excellent series with averages of 27.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 2.1 steals per contest.

In Game 7, he put up 16 points, three rebounds, six assists and one block in 37 minutes of playing time.

After the game, the former Kentucky star sent out a tweet with just one emoji.

Fox: "💜"

The Kings finished the regular season as the third seed in the Western Conference with a 48-34 record.

This was the first time the franchise had made the NBA Playoffs since the 2006 season, and they gave the defending champions a legitimate challenge.

Four-time NBA Champion Draymond Green had high praise for Fox when he met with the media

The Kings are a young team, so they likely have a bright future and could make a deep run in one of the next few seasons.

Fox is only 25 years old, and this was his sixth season in the league (he was the fifth-overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft).

During the regular season, he averaged 25.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest in 73 games while shooting 51.2% from the field.
