DeMar DeRozan Made NBA History In Lakers-Bulls Game
On Wednesday evening, the Chicago Bulls are hosting the Los Angeles Lakers at the United Center in Illinois.
DeMar DeRozan is playing in his 1,058th regular season game, which moves him ahead of Johnny Green and Manu Ginóbili and ties Elton Brand and Olden Polynice for 106th on the all-time list.
Following Brand and Polynice, the next player for DeRozan to pass will be Boris Diaw (1,064).
DeRozan came into the night with averages of 22.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 44.1% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range in 26 games.
The Bulls have an 11-17 record in their first 28 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently defeated the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 108-104 (on the road).
In 37 minutes of playing time, DeRozan had 15 points, four rebounds, five assists, four steals and one block while shooting 5/15 from the field.
Following the Lakers, the Bulls will host the San Antonio Spurs at the United Center on Thursday evening.
DeRozan was the ninth pick in the 2009 NBA Draft out of USC and is in his 15th season in the league.
In addition to the Bulls, he has also spent time with the Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs.
His career averages are 21.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 46.7% from the field.
