Los Angeles Lakers Player Says He Might Need An IV After Guarding Steph Curry
On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors 117-112 at the Chase Center in Game 1 of their second-round playoff series.
Veteran point guard Dennis Schroder played a significant role in helping guard Steph Curry and being a productive player on offense.
The 29-year-old played 31 minutes and put up 19 points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal while shooting 5/10 from the field.
After the game, he met with the media and was asked how he felt.
Schroder: "Whatever it takes to win, but it's really, really, really hard. Steph is probably the best, conditioning-wise, in sports because he running around for 23 seconds and still taking the shot. Just to be by him when he catches it makes it really, really tough. Might gotta get a IV tonight."
The Lakers did a good job containing the two-time MVP, as Curry only had 27 points on 10/24 shooting from the field (41.7%).
That said, he still shot 6/13 from the three-point range (46.2%) and had six rebounds, three assists and one steal.
The most important thing for the Lakers was the fact that they were able to get a win on the road to open up the series.
Coming into the night, the Warriors were 35-9 in the 44 games they had hosted on their home floor at the Chase Center.
Game 2 of the series will be back in San Francisco on Thursday evening before the two teams go to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4.
