Jamal Murray Could Make Nuggets History Against Raptors On Monday Night
While it is hard to believe, Jamal Murray is currently in his seventh NBA season with the Denver Nuggets. Known as a sharpshooter coming out of the University of Kentucky in 2016, Murray has turned himself into an all-around offensive threat with the ball in his hands for the Nuggets and on Monday night, he could make team history.
With 798 made threes in his career, Murray is just seven three-pointers away from becoming the Denver Nuggets’ all-time leader in threes made, a record that is currently held by Will Barton with 804 made threes in a Nuggets’ uniform.
Barton spent eight seasons with Denver and was recently traded to the Washington Wizards this past offseason before being released and signing a deal for the rest of the season with the Toronto Raptors recently.
Coincidentally enough, the Nuggets will take on Barton and the Raptors on Monday night in Denver. Could Jamal Murray break the record against Toronto and his former teammate?
In his career, Murray has made at least seven three-pointers on six different occasions, most recently on February 4 against the Atlanta Hawks. Going 7-12 from three-point range, Murray scored a total of 41 points against the Hawks in this game, his highest scoring game of the season so far.
Currently 45-19 on the season, the Denver Nuggets own the best record in the Western Conference and are closing in on claiming the 1-seed and home court advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs.
They are currently one win behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the most wins in the entire league.
Should Jamal Murray be unable to break this team record on Monday night against Toronto, his next chance to do so will come on Wednesday night when the Nuggets host the Chicago Bulls.
