Denver Nuggets NBA Champion Is Still A Free Agent

Ish Smith, who played for the Denver Nuggets last season, is still a free agent.

Ish Smith has played 13 seasons in the NBA, and this past year he won his first NBA Championship while playing for the Denver Nuggets.

The former Wake Forest star played in 43 regular season games and averaged 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 39.7% from the field (he also appeared in four NBA playoff games).

This summer, Smith became a free agent, and he is still available to be signed by any team in the league.

In addition to the Nuggets, Smith has also spent time with the Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors.

The 35-year-old has career averages of 7.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest while shooting 42.9% from the field and 32.3% from the three-point range in 762 regular season games (he has also appeared in 23 NBA playoff games).

While Smith played a limited role with the Nuggets, he could be a good veteran for another contending team to add to their roster due to his experience and ability to be a reliable backup point guard.

As for the Nuggets, they had a miraculous season and were the first seed in the Western Conference with a 53-29 record.

In the NBA playoffs, they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves (in five games), Phoenix Suns (in six games), Los Angeles Lakers (in a sweep) and Miami Heat (in five games).
