Denver Nuggets Player Is Still A Free Agent
Ish Smith is coming off a year where he played in 43 regular season games (and four NBA playoff games) for the Denver Nuggets.
The 13-year NBA veteran averaged 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 39.7% from the field during the regular season.
This summer, Smith became a free agent, and (on August 24) he still remains available to be signed by any team in the league.
In addition to the Nuggets, Smith has also played for the Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors.
He has career averages of 7.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest while shooting 42.9% from the field and 32.3% from the three-point range in 762 regular season games (he has also appeared in 23 NBA playoff games).
Since Smith has extensive experience playing for many teams (and is now an NBA Champion), he could be a good pickup for a franchise that is looking to add a point guard.
He would be a fantastic mentor for young players on a developing team or provide valuable depth to the end of a contending team's bench.
As for the Nuggets, they are coming off a sensational year where they were the first seed in the Western Conference with a 53-29 record.
In just five games, they won the 2023 NBA Championship over Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.
