Detroit Lions Fans Will Love What Trae Young Posted On X
On Thursday evening, the NFL season began when the Detroit Lions visited Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs are coming off a year where they beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, so they had been expected to win the game on their home field against the Lions (who missed the 2022 playoffs).
That said, the Lions pulled off the upset, defeating the Chiefs by a score of 21-20.
Following the victory, Atlanta Hawks superstar point guard Trae Young sent out a post on X about the Lions.
Young's post: "Dan Campbell can Coach!! The Lions aight🔥"
Campbell played ten seasons in the NFL for the Lions, New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.
He became the coach of the Lions in 2021, so this is his third season at the helm.
The franchise last made the postseason in 2016, but this season, they look like they could end the drought.
As for Young, he is coming off another sensational year with averages of 26.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 10.2 assists per contest while shooting 42.9% from the field and 33.5% from the three-point range in 73 regular season games.
The former Oklahoma star led the Hawks to the NBA playoffs for the third straight season, and they lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round (in six games).
Over his first five seasons in the NBA, Young has been to the All-Star Game (as a starter) twice and led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021.
