Donovan Mitchell Made NBA History In Cavs-Wizards Game
On Wednesday evening, Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Washington Wizards by a score of 114-106 (in Washington, D.C.)
Mitchell finished his night with 40 points, eight rebounds, five assists and one steal while shooting 14/25 from the field and 5/10 from the three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.
During the game, Mitchell also made NBA history by moving ahead of Baron Davis for (1,332) for 62nd on the all-time three-pointers list.
Following Davis, the next player for Mitchell to pass will be Khris Middleton (1,340).
With the victory, the Cavs improved to 33-16 in 49 games, which has them as the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are in the middle of a seven-game winning streak and are 9-1 over their last ten games.
In addition, the Cavs improved to 15-8 in the 23 games they have played on the road away from Ohio.
Following the Wizards, they will remain on the road to face off against Mikal Bridges and the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday evening at Barclays Center in New York.
Mitchell is in his seventh season in the NBA and his second playing for the Cavs.
The five-time NBA All-Star is currently averaging 28.5 points, 5.5 rebonds, 6.3 assists and 1.9 steals per contest while shooting 47.4% from the field and 35.8% from the three-point range in 40 games.
As for the Wizards, they dropped to 9-41 in their first 50 games, which has them as the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference.
