Draymond Green Made NBA History In Lakers-Warriors Game
UPDATE: Draymond Green finished the game with 11 assists and also moved ahead of DeMar DeRozan (4,343) for 99th on the all-time assists list.
On Saturday evening, Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors are playing the Los Angeles Lakers on their home floor at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
During the game, Green made NBA history by moving ahead of Jay Humphries (4,339) and Spud Webb (4,342) for 100th on the all-time assists list.
Following Webb, the next player for Green to pass will be DeMar DeRozan (4,343).
Green entered the evening with averages of 9.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per contest while shooting 49.6% from the field and 44.7% from the three-point range in 18 games.
He doesn't put up huge numbers but has always been one of the team's best play-makers (and defenders).
The former Michigan State star is among the best second-round picks of all time and has helped lead the Warriors to four titles (and six NBA Finals appearances) since 2015.
His career averages are 8.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 45.0% from the field and 31.8% from the three-point range in 776 regular season games.
He has made four NBA All-Star Games and won the 2017 Defensive Player of The Year Award.
Right now, the Warriors are the 12th seed in the Western Conference and have a 19-23 record in their first 42 games.
Following Saturday's showdown with LeBron James and the Lakers, the Warriors will remain in San Francisco to host the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday evening.
