Ex-NBA Player Still Getting Paid $1.3 Million Per Year By The Portland Trail Blazers
Eric Bledsoe most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Bledsoe averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 42.1% from the field and 31.3% from the three-point range in 54 games (29 starts).
Following his stint with the Clippers, Bledsoe was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.
However, the former Kentucky star did not appear in a game for Portland, and he was waived that summer.
Despite being out of the NBA, Bledsoe is still getting paid by the Trail Blazers since the team stretched out his cap hit over three seasons.
He will make $1.3 million per year until the end of the 2024-25 season (h/t Sam Yip of HoopsHype and Spotrac).
Bledsoe was initially the 18th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft and has played 12 seasons in the league.
In addition to the Clippers, he has spent time with the Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans.
His career averages are 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field and 33.6% from the three-point range in 756 regular season games.
He has also appeared in 48 NBA playoff games (21 starts).
Bledsoe is currently in his second season playing for the Shanghai Sharks, and is averaging 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 46.9% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range.
