Late in the NBA season, tensions are high and you just never know when a fight or altercation can break out.

With just seconds remaining in Monday night's game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Sacramento Kings, Bucks center Brook Lopez and Kings big man Trey Lyles got into it with one another.

The incident occurred when Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was dribbling the ball up the floor to run out the clock and seal what would have been a nine-point victory for Milwaukee when he was grabbed and shoved in the back by Lyles for dribbling in front of him.

Lopez took exception to Lyles' actions and immediately got in his face, which prompted the two to exchange some words before the Kings' big man shoved Lopez across the face.

The two teams came together near midcourt and had to be separated by the scorer's table. Brook Lopez had to be held back by multiple staff members and arena security members from escalating the issue with Trey Lyles.

After looking at the altercation for a few minutes, the referees gave both players technical fouls and they were ejected from from Monday night's game with 15.4 second remaining.

"I don't know what happened, but we ain't taking no sh-- from nobody," Kings head coach Mike Brown said after the game.

Kings guard De'Aaron Fox also shared his opinions on the matter after the game, claiming that Giannis Antetokounmpo was the one who prompted the altercation for not just holding onto the ball and letting the clock run down.

"Giannis can just dribble the ball out, and nothing would have happened," Fox said. "Just dribble the ball out. There's no reason to dribble around or in front of someone."

The Bucks and Kings will not meet again this season unless they meet one another in the NBA Finals.

The NBA will likely review what happened on Monday night in Sacramento and hand down further punishments if deemed necessary.
