Former New York Knicks Player Signs With New Team
Damyean Dotson most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he appeared in two regular-season games for the New York Knicks.
Last year, he played 28 games for Gaziantep Basketbol and averaged 14.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest while shooting 45.8% from the field and 42.6% from the three-point range.
This summer, Dotson was a free agent, and Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype reports that he has now signed with the Ningbo Rockets.
Dotson was initially the 44th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft after playing college basketball for Oregon and Houston.
He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Knicks, and during the 2019 season, he averaged 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 41.5% from the field and 36.8% from the three-point range in 73 games (40 starts).
Following his first three seasons with the Knicks, Dotson joined the Cavs during the 2020-21 season.
Over five seasons in the NBA, the 29-year-old has career averages of 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 41.7% from the field and 34.5% from the three-point range in 213 games.
In addition to his time in the NBA, Dotson has also played in the G League.
His career averages are 16.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 45.7% from the field and 37.3% from the three-point range in 38 regular season games (he has also appeared in 12 Showcase Cup games and one G League playoff game).
