Warriors And Hawks G League Teams Made A Trade

Malik Ellison is coming off a year where he appeared in 28 regular season games for the College Park Skyhawks (G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks).
The 27-year-old averaged 7.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 59.7% from the field.
He also played in eight Showcase Cup games and averaged 9.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 48.2% from the field and 45.5% from the three-point range.
On Wednesday, the College Park Skyhawks announced that they had traded Ellison to the Santa Cruz Warriors (G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors).

Ellison initially went undrafted in 2020 after four seasons of college basketball playing for St. John's, Pitt and Hartford.
He finished his senior year with averages of 18.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 51.4% from the field in 23 games.

His career averages in the G League are 7.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 51.8% from the field in 54 regular season games (he has also played in 22 Showcase Cup games, one Exhibition game and one G League playoff game).

The Warriors will play their first game of the 2023-24 regular season on October 24 (at home) against the Phoenix Suns.
Meanwhile, the Hawks will play their first game on October 25 when they visit the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina.
