On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers at the Chase Center for Game 2 of their second-round playoff series.

During the game, Klay Thompson will likely make NBA history by moving up on the all-time playoff scoring list

The five-time All-Star has 2,960 career playoff points, which ranks 31st on the list.

He is only four points away from passing Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler (2,963).

In addition, Thompson needs just 13 points to move ahead of Hall of Famer Reggie Miller (2,972) for 29th.

The former Washington State star has scored 13+ points in all eight games of the NBA Playoffs so far.

His current averages in the 2023 playoffs are 21.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 41.4% from the field.

In the first round, the Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings in Game 7 (on Sunday afternoon).

They had a quick turnaround because Game 1 against the Lakers was on Tuesday night at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

The Warriors lost 117-112, so they will need a victory to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole before going on the road for Games 3 and 4 in Los Angeles.

It's been an up-and-down year for the Warriors, but they are also coming off winning their fourth NBA Championship in the previous eight seasons.

Thompson has spent his entire career with the franchise and will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day.

Whoever wins the series will advance to the Western Conference Finals.
