On Thursday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers were in New York facing off against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center for Game 3 of their first-round playoff series.

During the game, James Harden got ejected after being given a flagrant 2 foul.

The decision to eject the 2018 MVP left a lot of people on Twitter confused.

After the game, Harden met with the media and spoke about what happened (video via Kyle Neubeck of PhillyVoice)

Harden: "I didn't even think it was a foul on me. Somebody draped on me, natural reaction is just use your off-arm and get him off a little bit and that was it. It wasn't no wind up, elbow, none of that. I didn't hit him in the private area, none of that. That can't happen, that can't happen."

The ten-time NBA All-Star finished the night with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes of playing time.

Despite losing Harden, the 76ers were able to pull off a 102-97 win to give them a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.

Game 4 will be played on Saturday back at Barclays Center in New York, and the 76ers will have a chance to sweep the series and be the first team in the NBA to advance to the second round.

The winner of the series will face off with either the Boston Celtics or Atlanta Hawks.

Harden is in his second season with the 76ers and averaged a sensational 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 10.7 assists and 1.2 steals per contest during the regular season.
