Here's What Steve Kerr Said After The Warriors Lost Game 1
On Saturday night, the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings played Game 1 of their first-round playoff series (in Sacramento, California).
The game was a thriller, and the Kings were able to hold on 126-123 to take a 1-0 lead (Game 1 will be back in Sacramento on Monday night).
De'Aaron Fox led the Kings with 38 points, while Steph Curry had 30 for the Warriors.
Following the loss, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr met with the media.
Kerr: "Will look at the tape and see if there's something we want to do differently. All in all, to come out here, ten-point lead in the second half, did plenty of good things, had a chance to win at the end, I think we're in a pretty good place. We just couldn't complete the game tonight, but seven-game series, so will bounce back."
The Warriors (44-38) had an up-and-down season, finishing as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
That said, the franchise won the 2022 NBA Championship over the Boston Celtics and has won four titles in the previous eight seasons.
The biggest problems for the Warriors this season have come on the road.
Counting Saturday's loss, they are just 11-31 in the 42 games they have played away from the Chase Center.
As for the Kings (48-34), they are the third seed and in the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
They are now 24-18 in the 42 games they have hosted on their home floor in Sacramento.
