2x NBA All-Star Is Still A Free Agent
On Sunday night, the 2023 NBA All-Star Game is taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah.
With the season more than halfway over, former All-Star Isaiah Thomas still remains a free agent.
The 34-year-old point guard had stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets during the 2021-22 season.
Over 22 games, he averaged 8.4 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest.
At one point, Thomas was one of the best guards in the league.
His two-and-a-half-year run with the Boston Celtics was unbelievable, and he averaged 28.9 points per contest during the 2017 season (the Celtics also made the Eastern Conference Finals).
While he is no longer the star he once was, Thomas could add bench depth to many teams around the league.
His scoring ability is unquestioned, and he could be an excellent mentor to young guards.
Thomas has played many different roles during his 11 seasons in the NBA.
In 2011, he was the last pick in the NBA Draft but still made the All-Rookie Second Team.
On top of being a borderline superstar with the Celtics, Thomas has also played 188 games off the bench, so he is capable of nearly any role.
The former Washington star has played for the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans (in addition to the Mavs, Lakers, Hornets and Celtics).
Through 550 regular season games, Thomas has career averages of 17.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest.
