On Tuesday, six-time NBA All-Star Blake Griffin announced his retirement from basketball (in an Instagram post).

Griffin had most recently played during the 2022-23 season when he had a limited role with the Boston Celtics.

Following the news, many people (and former players) reacted to Griffin's retirement on social media.

One player who sent out a post was NBA legend Jamal Crawford.

Crawford wrote: "The star who left the stars star struck! He left me in awe everyday. One of my favorite teammates EVER , even better person!! Next stop, Springfield..love you bro. @blakegriffin23"

Crawford and Griffin were teammates on the Los Angeles Clippers when they had an exciting team that also featured Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and other notable players.

During the 2015-16 season, Crawford won his third 6th Man of The Year Award and Griffin averaged 21.4 points per contest.

Griffin was the first pick in the 2009 NBA Draft after playing one season of college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners.

In addition to the Clippers and Celtics, he also spent time with the Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets.

His career averages are 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest while shooting 49.3% from the field and 32.8% from the three-point range in 765 regular season games (13 seasons).

He has also appeared in 68 NBA playoff games (64 starts).

As for Crawford, he played part of 20 seasons in the NBA for the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets (in addition to the Clippers).
