Jaylen Brown's Brutally Honest Statement After Celtics-Raptors Game
On Friday evening, the Boston Celtics defeated the Toronto Raptors by a score of 108-105 on the road in Canada.
All-Star forward Jaylen Brown played 36 minutes and had 23 points, three rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block while shooting 9/14 from the field and 3/5 from the three-point range.
After the victory, Brown shared an honest statement about the Raptors' NBA In-Season Tournament court.
Brown: "I might have strained my groin a little bit. We'll see how it feels, but the court was just slippery all game. I think, as players, we're all here for the in-season tournament because it's going to generate revenue, excitement, competition, etc. But we've got to make sure the floor is safe to play on. We can't put our players out there and risk their health. Tonight, I thought the floor was kind of unacceptable. I think guys were slipping all over the place, not just me."
Brown has played in 11 games and is averaging 22.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 47.2% from the field and 37.8% from the three-point range.
He is in his eighth season in the NBA and has helped the Celtics make the Eastern Conference Finals in five of the previous seven seasons.
With the victory, the Celtics improved to 10-2 in their first 12 games, and they are now in the middle of a five-game winning streak (and the first seed in the Eastern Conference).
They will play their next game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday in Tennessee.
