Jaylen Brown Made NBA History In Celtics-Kings Game
On Wednesday evening, the Boston Celtics are in California facing off against the Sacramento Kings.
During the game, Jaylen Brown made NBA history by becoming the 466th player to score 9,000 career points.
Brown came into the evening with averages of 22.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 47.6% from the field and 33.9% from the three-point range in 25 games.
The Celtics are the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 20-6 record in their first 26 games.
They are 8-2 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Golden State Warriors by a score of 132-126 (in overtime).
In 41 minutes of playing time, Brown had 28 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and one block while shooting 10/22 from the field and 1/4 from the three-point range.
Following the Kings, the Celtics will play their next game on Saturday evening when they visit James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Brown was the third pick in the 2016 NBA Draft out of Cal and is in his eighth season in the league (all with the Celtics).
He has helped lead the franchise to the Eastern Conference Finals five times, and they made the NBA Finals in 2022.
The 27-year-old has career averages of 18.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 47.7% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point range in 495 regular season games.
He is a two-time All-Star and has also appeared in 105 NBA playoff games.
