On Wednesday evening, the Detroit Pistons will play the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Georgia.

Before the game (on Tuesday), Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the Pistons will likely sign NBA veteran Jaylen Nowell to a 10-day deal.

Via Charania: "The Detroit Pistons are planning to sign guard Jaylen Nowell to a 10-day contract, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Nowell has played for the Stockton Kings in the NBA G League. He also appeared in nine games for Grizzlies this season, averaging 5.7 points and 1.8 assists."

Before his brief stint with Memphis, Nowell had spent the first four seasons of his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Over part of five seasons, Nowell has averaged 8.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest while shooting 44.5% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point range in 193 regular season games.

He has also appeared in six NBA playoff games.

As for the Pistons, they have had a tough season and are the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 13-62 record in 75 games.

They have gone 1-9 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Memphis Grizzlies (at home) by a score of 110-108.

Following their matchup with the Hawks, the Pistons will play their next game on Friday evening when they visit the Grizzlies in Memphis.
