Jayson Tatum's Heartfelt Instagram Story After Marcus Smart Got Traded

On Wednesday evening, the NBA world was shocked when Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Marcus Smart was being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Memphis Grizzlies.
The transaction was part of a three-team trade that also included the Washington Wizards.
In the deal, the Celtics acquired 2018 NBA All-Star Kristaps Porzingis, who is coming off a season where he averaged a sensational 23.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 blocks per contest while shooting 49.8% from the field and 38.5% from the three-point range.

Smart was the 2022 Defensive Player of The Year and had spent his entire nine-year career with Boston.
He's played in an astonishing 108 NBA Playoff games and helped lead the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals five times in the previous seven seasons.
On Friday, All-Star forward Jayson Tatum (who played six seasons with Smart) shared an Instagram story with a heartfelt message for his long-time teammate.
Tatum via his Instagram story: "My dawg Forever grateful for you and how you pushed me and helped me along this journey. Never change keep being you, one of kind can never be replaced! My brotha for life 🤞🏽We gone link back up one day and get us one no doubt about that! Until then, Much love Brodie!"

Smart finished the 2022-23 season with averages of 11.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 41.5% from the field.
Both the Celtics and the Grizzlies will likely improve from this trade.
