Jayson Tatum's Viral Quote After Celtics Beat 76ers
On Thursday evening, the Boston Celtics kept their season alive by winning Game 6 over the Philadelphia 76ers (on the road) by a score of 95-86.
They came into the night down 3-2, so the series is now tied up at 3-3 with Game 7 on Sunday in Boston.
Through the game's first three quarters, superstar forward Jayson Tatum struggled, but he came alive in the fourth quarter and exploded for 16 points on 50% shooting.
After the game, the former Duke star spoke to Cassidy Hubbarth on the ESPN broadcast and had a quote that is going viral on Twitter.
Hubbarth: "How do you describe the confidence you had to trust yourself down the stretch?"
Tatum: "Humbly, I'm one of the best basketball players in the world. Go through struggles, go through slumps. It's a long game."
Tatum ended his night with 19 points, nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in 43 minutes of playing time.
The Celtics finished the regular season as the second seed in the Eastern Conference and defeated the Atlanta Hawks in the first round in six games.
Meanwhile, the 76ers (who are the third seed and swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round) have proven to be a significant challenge.
They won Games 1 and 5 in Boston, so neither team has had a true home-court advantage.
Whoever wins the series will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals and face off against the Miami Heat or the New York Knicks.
