On Sunday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers will be in Texas to face of against the San Antonio Spurs.

For the game, they will be without their best player, as 2023 MVP Joel Embiid has been ruled out.

Via Underdog NBA: "Joel Embiid (injury recovery) ruled out Sunday."

Embiid has had another excellent season with averages of 34.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.7 blocks per contest while shooting 53.1% from the field and 37.4% from the three-point range in 37 games.

The 76ers enter the evening as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 43-35 record in 78 games.

They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a four-game winning streak.

Most recently, the 76ers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies (on the road) by a score of 116-96.

Embiid finished with 30 points, 12 rebounds, one assist and two blocks while shooting 9/13 from the field and 2/2 from the three-point range in 23 minutes of playing time.

Following San Antonio, the 76ers will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they host the Detroit Pistons.

As for the Spurs, they have had a tough season and are the 15th seed (last place) in the Western Conference with a 19-58 record in 77 games.

They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games.

Following their matchup with the 76ers, the Spurs will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies in Tennessee.
