Kevin Durant Made NBA History A Second Time In Friday's Game
On Friday night, the Phoenix Suns defeated the Chicago Bulls 125-104 at the United Center in Chicago.
13-time All-Star Kevin Durant was playing in his second game with the Suns and finished the night with 20 points, nine rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 31 minutes of playing time (while shooting 7/10 from the field).
During the game, the former Texas star made NBA history by passing Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson to move to 13th on the all-time scoring list.
He only needed four points, so he was able to pass Robertson (26,710) in the first quarter.
The next person for him to pass will be Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon (26,946).
Durant was also able to make more NBA history in the second half, as he moved ahead of Eric Snow and Kirk Hinrich for 101st on the all-time assists list.
Snow and Hinrich were tied with 4,245 assists, and Durant now has 4,247 assists for his career.
The 34-year-old is only six assists away from moving into the top 100 and passing Hall of Famer Grant Hill (4,252).
He is in the middle of another extraordinary season with averages of 29.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.5 blocks per contest in 41 games.
The two-time NBA Champion is also shooting 56.3% from the field and 38.1% from the three-point range.
With the victory, the Suns improved to 35-29 in 64 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
They will play their next game on Sunday afternoon against the Dallas Mavericks in Texas.
