The two were teammates on the USA Men's Basketball Team that won the gold medal in the summer of 2021.
Lillard's performance was historic, as he is only the eighth player ever to score 70+ points in an NBA game.
Via NBA History: "Damian Lillard is the 8th player in NBA history to score 70+ PTS in a single game, joining:
Wilt Chamberlain (6 times)
Elgin Baylor

On the season, the former Weber State star is averaging 32.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.2 assists per contest (while shooting 47.2% from the field and 38.1% from the three-point range).
Lillard is arguably having the best individual season of his 11-year career.
That said, the Trail Blazers are 29-31 in 60 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
They are 5-5 in their last ten games and a solid 17-14 in the 31 games they have hosted at home in Oregon.
On Tuesday evening, the Trail Blazers will play their next game when they visit the Golden State Warriors.
